Pulihora (tamarind rice)
Very popular and authentic cuisine of Andhra pradesh.
Steps

Heat 1 tsp of oil in a small pan. Add methi seeds powder and tamarind pulp. Cook till the mixture become thick and oil start separating from the mixture.

Add this mixture, salt and sugar to the cooked rice. Mix well.

Again heat the remaining oil in a pan. Add peanuts then chana dal,urad dal, slit green chillies,curry leaves, red chillies, mustard seeds, cumin seeds and sauté for few minutes. Then add asafoetida and turmeric powder. Sauté it for a minute.

Switch off the gas. Add this tempering to the cooked rice. Mix it well. Pulihora ready to serve.
