Steps

60 minutes
  1. 1

Add shredded carrots to a deep cooking pot along with the milk. Simmer it on a low flame for the first 10 minutes.

  2. 2

Then increase the flame to medium high and continue cooking until the next 25 minutes. Keep stirring in between at regular intervals.

  3. 3

After about 25 minutes of cooking, add condensed milk and cardamom powder. Stir in fresh cream and the dry fruits too. Saute it on a high heat with a continuous stirring after adding ghee.

  4. 4

It becomes thick and ghee starts leaving the sides of the pot in a few more minutes. The aroma is also heavenly at this point of time.

  5. 5

Add homemade mawa just before switching off the gas. Wait a bit until you can handle the heat and start shaping into medium sized laddus.

  6. 6

Serve them right away or chill them in the refrigerator for an hour or two. Garnish with whole almonds on top for that extra gorgeous look.

  7. 7

Yummy delectable goodies made from gaajar halwa are ready to be 'DEVOURED'.

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
