Ingredients

  1. 1/2 bunchKale per baking sheet
  2. 1/2 Tbspextra virgin olive oil or melted coconut oil
  3. 1/4 tspSalt fine grain sea salt, or pink himalayan
  4. ...Optional seasonings..
  5. 1 tspGarlic Powder
  6. 1/2 tsponion powder
  7. 1/8 tspcayenne pepper
  8. 1/2 tspsmoked paprika
  9. 3/4 tspchili powder
  10. 1.5 Tbspnutritional yeast

Steps

  1. 1

    Preheat oven to 300F. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Remove leaves from the stems of the kale and roughly tear it up into large pieces. Wash and spin the leaves until thoroughly dry. Moisture is your enemy!

  3. 3

    Place kale leaves into a large bowl. Massage oil into the leaves until nicely coated in oil. Sprinkle on the salt and optional spices/seasonings and toss to combine. Spread onto prepared baking sheet in a single layer, being sure not to overcrowd.

  4. 4

    Bake for 10 minutes, rotate the pan, and bake for another 12-15 minutes more until the kale begins to firm up. The kale will look shrunken, but this is normal. The chips are done when they are barely browned.

  5. 5

    Cool the kale on the sheet. Enjoy immediately as they lose their crispiness with time.
