Ingredients

  1. 250 gmsoaked ghoogni or white matar
  2. 1big onion
  3. 3-4 clovesgarlic
  4. 1" garlic
  5. 2green chillis
  6. 1big tomato chopped finely
  7. Some tamarind water ( soak tamarind in water and squeeze, strain
  8. 1lemon squeezed
  9. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  10. 1 tspred chilli powder
  11. 1 tbspcoriander powder
  12. 1/2roasted jeera powder
  13. 1/2 tspamchoor powder
  14. 1/2 tspgaram masala
  15. to tasteSalt according
  16. Coriander leaves for garnish
  17. 2 tbspmustard oil
  18. 1 clove
  19. 1 cardamom
  20. 1 bay leaf
  21. 1/4 tspjeera

Steps

  1. 1

    Boil the ghoogni in pressure cooker. Do not over boil.

  2. 2

    Grind the onion, green chillis, garlic and ginger.

  3. 3

    Heat oil. Add jeera, clove, cardamon and bay leaf. Add the grounded masala and fry in oil for about 3-4 mins. Add all dry masala except amchoor and garam masala and fry for a minute

  4. 4

    Add the tomatoes. Fry for 2 mins. Add tamarind water, amchoor and mix properly.

  5. 5

    Then add the boiled ghoogni and sprinkle garam masala and coriander leaves on top.
