Ingredients

8-10 servings
  1. 1 boxpastitsio pasta (or ziti)
  2. 7 ozgrated cheese (pecorino or kefalotyri) (200 grams)
  3. Meat Sauce
  4. 2.2 lbsground beef (1 kilogram)
  5. 1onion
  6. 1carrot
  7. Garlic powder
  8. Salt and pepper
  9. Cinnamon
  10. Clove
  11. 6-7whole spices (such as allspice or bay leaves)
  12. 3/4 cuptomato sauce (200 ml)
  13. Béchamel
  14. 2 batchesbéchamel sauce (see: https://cookpad.wasmer.app/gr/sintages/7112357-klasiki-mpesamel)

Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the meat sauce the day before. Sauté the onion, garlic powder, and carrot. Once softened, add the ground beef and cook until it changes color.

    Let it come to a boil and add water if needed. Add the spices and let it simmer. Shortly before it's done, add the tomato sauce and cook until most of the liquid is absorbed.

    Boil the pasta for a few minutes less than the package instructions.

    Prepare the béchamel sauce following the directions.

    In a 12x14 inch (30x35 cm) baking dish, add the pasta. Mix in a little meat sauce, some béchamel, and some grated cheese.

  6. 6

    Pour half the béchamel over the pasta, then add the meat sauce, and top with the remaining béchamel.

  7. 7

    Sprinkle plenty of cheese on top and bake at 350°F (180°C) for about 1 hour.

Ξεκίνησα από τις Συνταγές της Παρέας το 2006 και έχω υπάρξει για πολλά χρόνια μέλος της διαχειριστικής ομάδας της Cookpad. Έμαθα να μαγειρεύω πρώτα για μένα και μετά για όσους αγαπώ, να ταξιδεύω στο χώρο και τον χρόνο μέσα από γεύσεις και κάθε μέρα να προσπαθώ να φέρω ένα αξιόλογο πιάτο στο τραπέζι μου. Η μαγειρική είναι χαρά και δημιουργία (εντάξει, όχι πάντα, δεν είναι όλες οι ώρες ίδιες!) και φέρνει τους ανθρώπους κοντά. Οπότε δεν μπορεί παρά να έχει μια πολύ σημαντική θέση στην δική μου ζωή και καθημερινότητα!
