Cook the bacon pieces in a skillet to render the fat.

Roll out the dough to about 7 inches wide by 14 inches long (18 cm x 36 cm). Trim the edges to reveal the layers.

Spread the cream evenly over the dough, then sprinkle the shredded cheese on top.

Cut the dough into 9 strips, each about 3/4 inch wide (2 cm). Braid the strips to make 3 braids. Add the cooked bacon to each braid.

Let the dough rest for 2 hours, then bake at 400°F (200°C) for 12 to 15 minutes.

These are perfect for dinner served with a salad.
