Mix milk, sugar and yeast in a bowl and stir until the sugar is dissolved, set aside for 10 mins

Sift all dry ingredients add butter and rub in until it's crumbly

Stir in eggs and the yeast mixture... Then add the raisins combine until a soft dough forms.

Knead again until smooth then divide into sizeable balls. Set aside for 20 minutes for rolls to rise.

When rolls have risen use the water and flour paste to make the crosses

Bake for 10 mins at 200° then reduce to 180° and bake for further 15 mins... Remove from oven and brush with butter.

Serve with tea or cold Milk
