Ingredients

  1. 1 cupSemolina (Sooji)
  2. 1/4 cupGhee (clarified butter)
  3. 1/2 cupSugar
  4. 1 TspCardamom Powder
  5. 1/2 cupBanana, mashed
  6. 1 1/2 cupsMilk
  7. 1/4 TspNutmeg powder
  8. 7-8 strandssaffron
  9. 1/4 cupmixed chopped nuts

Steps

  1. 1

    Dry roast the semolina for 2-3 minutes on a low flame. Once done keep it aside and allow it to cool.

  2. 2

    Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed pan or kadhayi.

  3. 3

    Add in the chopped nuts, saffron, cardamom powder. Fry it on a low flame.

  4. 4

    You can see a change in colour. At this time add roasted semolina and mashed banana

  5. 5

    Keep roasting till the Semolina and banana becomes light brown in colour.

  6. 6

    Add sugar and milk. Stir continuously till the sugar melts. Cover it with lid and cook for 10 minutes on a low flame.

  7. 7

    After 10 minutes, remove the lid. Give it a nice mix. Add the chopped mix nuts and nutmeg powder. Mix it again and serve it.

    Serve hot and add some more sliced bananas over it.
