Wash and soak rice for half an hour.

Strain and spread on the plate.

Marinate chicken with ginger garlic paste,curd,red chilli powder,turmeric powder,coriander powder and salt.

Keep aside for an hour.

Heat oil in a pan,add sliced onion and whole garam masala and saute for 3 - 4 mins.

Add chicken pieces and ginger garlic paste.

Cover the lid and cook in a slow flame for ten mins.

In another pan heat clarified butter

Add cumin seeds to crackle

Add basmati rice and saute for 3 - 4 mins

Now add chicken pieces and water and cook for ten mins.

Serve hot with raita.
