Ingredients

  1. 2 cups dhokla flour
  2. 1/2 cup khatta dahi / curd
  3. 1tbspgreen chilli paste
  4. 1tbspoil
  5. as per tasteSalt
  6. 1tbspfruit salt
  7. As neededHaldi/ turmeric powder
  8. fortempering:
  9. 1tbspoil
  10. 1tbsp mustard seeds
  11. 1tbspsesame seeds
  12. pinchHing/ asafoetida
  13. fewCurry leaves
  14. As per tasteRed chilli powder

Cooking Instructions

    Combine the khatta dhokla flour, dahi/ curd, green chilli paste, oil, warm water, haldi/ turmeric powder, hing / asafoetida and salt in a bowl and mix well, and marinate for 5-hours. Add fruit salt.

    Pour the batter into the greased thali and sprinkle red chilli powder, coriander leaves and steam in a steamer for 8-10 minutes. Dhokla is cooked.

    Cool slightly and cut into equal pieces.

    Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, curry patta, hing, sesame seeds.

    Pour the tempering over the dhokla.

    Serve with sauce or garlic chutney.
