  1. 1 cupChickpeas (kabuli chana) boiled
  2. 1 cupRaw rice
  3. 2 tablespoonsGhee /oil
  4. 1 teaspoonCumin seeds
  5. 3-5Garlic cloves roughly chopped
  6. 3Green chillies chopped
  7. 1 inchGinger chopped
  8. 2Onions chopped medium
  9. 1 tspRed chilli powder
  10. 1 tspCoriander powder
  11. 1/2 tspTurmeric powder
  12. 1 tspGaram masala
  13. to tasteSalt
  14. As requiredFresh coriander and mint leaves Chopped
  15. 1 Juice of lemon
  16. As requiredWhole garam masala little
  17. 2 and 1/2 cupswater

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    In a pressure cooker take oil/ghee. Add whole garam masala and jeera. Then add garlic and fry little. Then add onions, ginger, green chilies and fry for few mins till onions changes it's colour.

    Then add chopped tomatoes And cook till tomatoes become soft and mashy. Add salt, all dry masalas, rice and fry for 2 mins.

    Then add boiled chana, coriander and mint leaves, water, little ghee and lemon juice.

    Give 1 whistle on high flame and that's it....let it sit for 10 mins, ready to serve with raita
