Pumpkin , as we know is very healthy & full of nutrients. We generally make soup, gravy, halva from pumpkin, today I combined dals with pumpkin & made one dish which can be consumed with roti, paratha or rice. Hope you all like this flavourful & healthy dish.

Ingredients

30 minutes
4 persons
  1. 1 cupchopped pumpkin
  2. 1 cupmix dal (mung dal, masoor dal, chana dal,udad dal, tur dal)
  3. 2finely chopped tomatoes
  4. 2finely chopped onions
  5. 8finely chopped garlic cloves
  6. 1 tbspred chilli powder
  7. 1 tspturmeric powder
  8. 1 tspgaram masala powder
  9. 1lemon
  10. 1/2 tspcumin seeds
  11. Pinchasafoetida
  12. 2 tbspoil
  13. to tasteSalt

Cooking Instructions

30 minutes

    Wash & soak dal.

  2. 2

    Heat oil in pressure pan, add cumin seeds & asafoetida, as cumin seeds splutter, add onions & garlic& saute for a while. Add tomatoes and saute for while.

    Now add chopped pumpkin & soaked mix dal, all spices & approximately one cup water. Cook for 3 whistles.

    If you wish, can give temper of ghee & red chilli powder. Serve hot.
