Tzatziki 🇬🇷

After cooked live on IG with my friend Marilita as she connected to me from Greece. Perfect sum up for our Global Food Tour on Greece week 🇬🇷. We made Greek salad and Tzatziki and also she gave me some tips about cutting tomatoes on the mixing bowl so keep the juice in the bowl rather than chop it on the chopped board. This is an authentic recipe that she taught me. It’s so fresh and delicious and a must try.

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Crush the garlic. Mix with the oil and a pinch of salt, and set aside.
- 2
Grate the cucumber coarsely with a hand grater. Place into a colander, salt lightly and leave to drain for 30 minutes.
- 3
Stir the garlic & olive oil, lemon juice and vinegar into the yoghurt. Squeeze the cucumber very well and add it in. Add the chopped mint and mix gently so that everything is well incorporated.
- 4
Taste and adjust quantities of salt & lemon juice accordingly. Ideally, allow the tzatziki to sit for a couple of hours in the refrigerator.
- 5
Just before serving, drizzle with extra olive oil and decorate with a few olives. Serve with greek style pita bread and greek salad 🥗

Or Cacik if you’re Turkish! This was going to be a full meal of a post. Sadly, my flatbreads didn’t prove well and fell flat, and my venison meatballs were too gamey. I don’t want to put a recipe up that tastes anything less than at least nice, so it’s limited to the one real success in last night’s meal, delicious tzatziki.I should probably be more dishonest in my posts. It was so good, I don’t want to share my Michelin star secrets, that’s what it is!Anyway, tzatziki is a Greek dip, which is fresh, delicious and goes brilliantly with any grilled or barbecued meat. It’s also lovely as is, for dipping a raw carrot, or a hunk of bread into.PS- Greek yoghurt, not ‘Greek Style’. The only one that’s easy to get in the UK is Total, which is now in most supermarkets. It’s both healthier and tastes creamier. Settling for second best here will severely limit the loveliness of the food! Ben Groom -

Tzatziki dip Tzatziki dip
Tzatziki dip....classic Greek appetizer...there was a time when I was obsessed with Greek food...specially the dips...Everytime we went out I would insist on going to a restaurant which served authentic Greek food so that I could order a meze platter...but then I decided to make it at home so I could enjoy it whenever I wanted...and one of those dips is this easy to make and healthy tzatziki sauce or dip...it can be made in advance and is a perfect condiment for burgers or as a dip for pita bread or veggies...This is my contribution to #CookClick Sumeet Kaur (Recipes and more by Sumi) -

Tzatziki Potato Salad Tzatziki Potato Salad
If you like tzatziki dip make sure you try this tzatziki potato salad for a classic summer treat. Substitute out the traditional potato salad dressing of mayonnaise sauce for something with a little more kick. Potato salad can be high in fat but Tzatziki is much lighter and better for those trying to count calories, whilst still enjoying this crowd-pleasing BBQ dish. Tzatziki is a Greek dip made with yoghurt, lemon juice and cucumber. You can buy it ready made or make your own at home for even more calorie saving in your tzatziki potato salad. LizzieVO -
Grandma's Tzatziki! 🥒🌿 Grandma's Tzatziki! 🥒🌿
Tzatziki is a must-have at our Easter table! Grandma never had a written recipe—she always cooked by feel and heart! That’s how I make it too. I’ve measured out about what I use, but I always taste and adjust, and I encourage you to do the same! Ήλια 🦭Translated from Cookpad Greece -
Mom's Tzatziki with Mint and a Secret Ingredient 😉 Mom's Tzatziki with Mint and a Secret Ingredient 😉
My mom was always in charge of making tzatziki because hers was perfect. After I moved to Cyprus, she gave me the recipe and shared her secrets, and I added mint since it's common here and I loved the combination... After that addition, my parents decided I should be the one to make tzatziki from now on... 😉 So, mint and some good bread! (Or maybe grilled bread, right???) 😋😋😋 IsminiTranslated from Cookpad Greece -

A light and delicious tzatziki!A few more tips:Be careful with the vinegar—add a little at a time and taste as you go, because too much will make it too sour. pinalakiTranslated from Cookpad Greece
