Ingredients

  1. 8left over Idlis
  2. 1medium Onion
  3. 1medium Tomato
  4. 1/2 cupdiced Capsicum
  5. 1Ginger (crushed)
  6. 2-3slit green chilli
  7. 2 tbspsoaked Chana Dal
  8. 2 tbspTomato Sauce
  9. 1/2 tspMustard seeds
  10. PinchTurmeric
  11. 1 stickCurry leaves
  12. as requiredSalt
  13. 1 tspSugar
  14. as requiredSalt
  15. as required Chopped Coriander (optional)

Cooking Instructions

    Cut Idlis into pieces

    Assemble other ingredients

    Make paste of Tomato

  4. 4

    In moderately heated pan add oil, add mustard seeds + Chana Dal and allow to sizzle, then add curry leaves + 1 green chilli and sauté for few seconds.

    Then add ginger + hing and sauté for few seconds, then add onion + capsicum + chilli and sauté for 2 minutes.
    Add turmeric + little salt and sauté for 1-2 minutes under medium flame.

    Sauté further for 2 minutes till onion turns golden yellow by adding sugar and 1 tbsp water.

    Now add tomato paste, mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes

    Add tomato sauce, mix and cook further for 2 minutes by adding required salt. Mixture thickens.
    Add Idli pieces and mix gently.

    Cook for 2-3 minutes till Idli pieces coats well with veggies and tomato paste. Dish is ready.
