Ingredients

30 minutes
2 people
  1. 1 cupbasmati long grain rice
  2. 1 cupcubes of paneer or cottage cheese
  3. 3 tbspoil
  4. 1 tbspcumin seeds
  5. 3cloves
  6. 5-6black pepper
  7. 1small stick of cinnamon
  8. 1bay leaf
  9. 2cardamom
  10. 1onion vertically sliced
  11. 1tomato vertically sliced
  12. 1capsicum chopped
  13. 1 tbspkashmiri red chili powder
  14. 1 tbspgaram masala
  15. as per tasteSalt
  16. 2 1/2 cup water
  17. 1 tspturmeric powder

Cooking Instructions

    Wash and soak rice in bowl for 15 minutes. Remove water.

    Wash and Chop all vegetables. Cut paneer in cubes.

    Heat oil in pan. Once oil gets heated add cumin seeds, cloves, black pepper, cinnamon, bay leaf cardamom. Saute for a minute.

    Add onion and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Add capsicum and tomatoes. Saute for another 3 to 4 minutes. Add turmeric powder, kashmiri red chili powder, garam masala. Mix it.

    Add washed and soaked rice. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Add salt. Mix it.

    Add water. Let it cook for 5 mins. When water starts reducing, add paneer cubes. Mix gently.

    Cover lid and cook completely. Serve with raita, gravy and papad.
