Easy Slow Cooker Pork Belly and Daikon Easy Slow Cooker Pork Belly and Daikon
Even if you're not great at cooking, you can easily make an authentic-tasting dish with this simple slow cooker pork and daikon recipe. The pork is tender like braised pork belly, and the daikon absorbs the flavors, while the eggs turn out like marinated eggs. The origin of this recipeI happened to see a slow cooker on a TV shopping channel and was captivated by how easily it could create authentic flavors. I bought one online and the first thing I made was this pork and daikon dish. I was amazed at how different it tasted compared to when I made it in a pot, especially the flavor of the meat. Chiles en Nogada to Celebrate Mexican Independence 🇲🇽 Chiles en Nogada to Celebrate Mexican Independence 🇲🇽
Let’s go back to August 29, 2020. After a sightseeing trip to El Salto waterfall, we returned home to make these chiles en nogada, a traditional dish for Mexican Independence celebrations. This dish dates back to the Santa Clara convent, when Emperor Agustín de Iturbide visited Puebla and the nuns served it to him (it features the colors of the Mexican flag). This recipe is a collection of several we learned from friends, family, YouTube, and Pinterest, and we made our own adjustments to suit our taste. I hope you enjoy it. Melon Cheesecake with Ricotta Cream, Coconut Milk, and Orange Blossom Honey Melon Cheesecake with Ricotta Cream, Coconut Milk, and Orange Blossom Honey
Cheesecake is a fresh and delicious dessert, perfect for warm weather. I was inspired by @vulpes08's strawberry cheesecake recipe, which you should check out on their profile—it's amazing! In my version, I replaced the cream with coconut milk, strawberries with melon, and for the base, I used my husband's favorite cookies, pastarelle. I made it the other day while still at the beach. Without an oven at home, I didn't have a springform pan, so I used a disposable aluminum one lined with parchment paper. Luckily, I managed to get a decent result. To prepare it, I crumbled the cookies, added melted butter and grated lemon zest, covered the base, and let it rest in the fridge. Meanwhile, I prepared the ricotta cream, adding coconut milk, a couple of tablespoons of orange blossom honey, grated lemon zest, and gelatin. I poured it over the cookies, put it back in the fridge, and prepared the melon by cutting it into cubes, adding lemon juice, half a tablespoon of honey, and gelatin. I spread it evenly over the set ricotta cream and let it rest in the fridge for another two hours. At this point, I had to cut the pan and slide the cheesecake onto a plate. Of course, it's better to use a springform pan 🤭. Francesca DiomedeTranslated from Cookpad Italy
