Cooking Instructions

Dry roast spices for dalma.Grind to a powder,keep aside.

Wash tur dal,put in a pressure cooker.Add water,cover with a lid and boil.When dal stars boiling add all vegetables except brinjal and tomato.Pressure cook for 2 whistles on high flame.Let pressure release.

Open the pressure cooker,mix and add tomato and brinjal.

Close the lid and further cook for 2 whistles on high flame.Let pressure release.

Add dalma masala.Mix.

For tampering:Heat a pan,add ghee and allthe spices of tampering(mentioned earlier).When seeds start crackling,add to dal.

Garnish with coriander leaves.Dalma is ready to serve.Serve with steamed/boiled hot rice.
