Ingredients

  1. For marinade
  2. 1/2 tspMeat masala
  3. 1/2 kgMutton pieces
  4. 1/2 cupCurd
  5. For cooking
  6. 2chopped onions
  7. 2tomatoes
  8. 1 tbspcoconut(dry or fresh)
  9. 8 piecesalmonds
  10. 2green chillies
  11. 1 bunchfresh Coriander leaves
  12. 4green Cardamom
  13. 2black Cardamom
  14. 4 tbspghee
  15. 2small Cinnamon sticks
  16. 1 tspFennel seeds
  17. 4Cloves
  18. 3Bay leaves
  19. 1 tbspgarlic paste
  20. 1/2 tbspginger paste
  21. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  22. 1 tspred chilli powder
  23. 1 tspKashmiri chilli powder
  24. 1 1/2 tspMeat masala

Cooking Instructions

45 minutes

    Wash and drain Mutton pieces.

  2. 2

    Add curd and Meat masala.

  3. 3

    Keep in refrigerator for 2 hours.

  4. 4

    Heat ghee or in pan and fry chopped onions till golden brown in colour.

  5. 5

    Drain and keep aside.

  6. 6

    Boil tomatoes and remove skin.

  7. 7

    When it cools grind it with coconut (dry or fresh), almonds, green chillies and a small bunch coriander leaves.

    Grind fried onions separately.

    Heat ghee in pan.

    Put whole garam masalas like green cardamom, black cardamom, Cinnamon sticks, fennel seeds, cloves and bay leaves.

    Add garlic paste and ginger paste.

    Cook on high flame for a minute.

  13. 13

    Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, Kashmiri chilli powder and Meat masala.

    Add tomato paste mixture and cook for 2 or 3 minutes.

    Add grounded fried onions, salt and Mutton pieces.

  16. 16

    Cook on high flame till oil starts separate.

  17. 17

    Add some water and cook till mutton pieces will tender.

  18. 18

    Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with paratha/naan.
