Here's an easy, Walnut pie recipe that is also know as Walnut galette. No special pie pan or blind baking required in this one. I have used whole wheat flour to make it a little on healthier side. Also I am not using refined sugar to make this dessert.

Cooking Instructions

Toast walnuts fo 2-3 minutes. Roughly Chop and set aside.

For Caramel; Spread sugar in a pan and heat until it melts.

Add butter and mix.

Once butter is mixed, add cream and milk mixture and mix well. Add more milk or cream for desired consistency.

For pie crust; take flour into a large bowl, add salt, powdered jaggery, cold butter. Mash butter with fingers and rub with flour.

Peel the apples and slice them. Add corn starch and brown sugar.

Toss them together and set aside.

Once the butter is well mixed. Flour will looks like crumbs.

Add vinegar and mix. Add cold milk. Bring together to form a dough.

Cover in cling film and refrigerate for 1/2 hour.

Also line and grease a baking tray and keep it ready. Preheat oven @180°C

Remove crust dough from fridge, dust kitchen counter with wheat flour, place the dough, press and roll using rolling pin. Make a 7-8 inch disc out of it.

Gently pick the disc and place over prepared tray. Spread generous amount of Caramel sauce over the disc. Arrange apple slices, leaving an inch from the edges.

Once done arranging, fold the edges inwards to make a border. Drizzle generously with more Caramel sauce.

Heep it with toasted chopped walnuts. Apply melted butter on the folded part of crust dough.

Put the tray in oven and bake for 45 minutes or until crust looks cooked and golden.
