Ingredients

  1. 1 cupSona masoori scented rice
  2. 1/2 cuproasted yellow moong daal
  3. 1 handfulshallots
  4. 1carrot clean and chopped
  5. 1/3 cupboiled chickpea
  6. 1large tomato chopped
  7. 1bay leaf
  8. 1 Tspcumin seeds
  9. 1/3 Tspcrushed carom/ ajwain seeds
  10. 1 Tbspginger garlic paste on
  11. 1/4 Tspturmeric powder
  12. 1 Tspsalt/as per taste
  13. 1/2 Tspkashmiri red chilli powder
  14. 1/3 Tspcinnamon powder
  15. 1/2 Tspgaram masala powder
  16. 1/2 Tspdry ginger powder
  17. 1 Tspsugar
  18. 1 Tbspghee/clarified butter
  19. 2 Tspvegetable oil

Cooking Instructions

    First, cook the chopped carrots in the microwave oven for 2 minutes or until half cooked, to save time. Heat oil and splutter cumin seeds and ajwain seeds. Fry the small shallots.

    Add shallots and fry. Mix turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, chopped tomatoes, kashmiri red chilli powder. Cook on low flame till aromatic and done.

    Now mix the half cooked carrots with the masala along with boiled chickpeas. Cook for a while. Mix cooked rice and moong daal. Add garam masala powder. Mix well with a light hand.

    Finally, mix the sugar and cook well lightly to gather all. Garnish with chopped pistas and serve with masala curd Thanks.
