Raw Mango Rice
Have you ever tried Mango rice?? If not, then give your boring rice a makeover with this lovely recipe. I was scrolling through YouTube and there I came across this lovely recipe which includes unripe mangoes (kacha aam) to give a healthy twist to our regular rice. We, here in the North, do not relish rice this way, so it was pretty new flavour for my family. The raw mango gives tangy taste to the rice whereas assorted dals and peanuts give it a crunch, a tantalizing aroma and interesting mouth feel. You can savour it with side dishes like ginger chutney or curd. But I devoured this as it is, enjoying every bite and feeling every single flavour. Yummmm!#khana

Lasooni dal | Lehsuni dal | Dal lasooni | Garlic dal tadka
Lasooni dal |Lehsuni dal | Dal lasooni | Garlic dal tadka is a very versatile dal in terms of the lentil that can be used in it. One can choose to use toor dal, moong dal or masoor dal. There are multiple ways to make this dal, each one a little bit varied than the other. Only thing constant in this is the seasoning of garlic!.Today morning while making lunch for hubby, I wanted to make a dal to go with steamed rice and realised that there was only one sad looking tomato left in the basket which wouldn't be sufficient. So, this lasooni dal was perfect because it doesn't require a whole lot of ingredients and adds a delicious variation to the everyday dal..Sharing here a quick and easy recipe for dal lasooni. Monsoon Is the time, when my garden is filled with greens and I make use of all the goodness that mother nature is offering to us. Botanical name is Solanum Nigrum which is originated in South Africa and commonly known as Black nightshade. It is a medicinal herb and very good for stomach ailments, is what I have head from my elders. Usually green leaves are used to make Tambli and it is believed that, it is a remedy for menstrual cramps as well as stomach related discomforts. This time I got a bumper harvest from wildly grown plants and tried to make kootu but without adding coconut.
