Ingredients

20 minutes
6-8 servings
  1. 10-15Raddish leaves
  2. 4-5Spinach leaves
  3. 1 cupToor dal
  4. 1tomato, chopped
  5. 1Onion, chopped
  6. 5-6 clovesgarlic, chopped
  7. 3Green chilles, chopped
  8. 2-3Dry red chillies
  9. 4-5Curry leaves
  10. 1 teaspoonSalt
  11. 1/2 teaspoonCumin seeds
  12. 1/2 teaspoonMustard seeds
  13. 1/2 teaspoonRed chilli powder
  14. 1/2 teaspoonCumin powder
  15. 1/2 teaspoonCoriander powder
  16. 1/4 teaspoonTurmeric powder
  17. 2 tablespoonsOil
  18. 2 tablespoonsGhee

Cooking Instructions

20 minutes
  1. 1

    Wash and chop raddish and spinach leaves.

  2. 2

    Wash and clean dal and add to a pressure cooker. Add chopped tomatoes and leaves. Cook until 2-3 whistles.

  3. 3

    In a wok add oil and ghee and add mustard and cumin seeds once it's hot. Let the seeds splutter.

  4. 4

    Add Green chillies, curry leaves red chillies and then onion and garlic, in this order. Cook until onions are soft.

  5. 5

    Add the masalas and fry for 1 minute

  6. 6

    Add to the dal and bring to a boil.

  7. 7

    Serve with steamed rice or chapatis.
