Vanilla cake that you can sell

Ingredients

45mins at 180°c
  1. 1 kgall purpose flour
  2. 500 gsugar
  3. 500 gmargarine (I used prestige)
  4. 40 gbaking powder
  5. 4eggs
  6. 11/2 cupmilk
  7. 2 tablespoonsvanilla essence
  8. 2 tablespoonslemon juice

Cooking Instructions

    Measure out all your ingredients correctly. Sieve the flour and the baking powder.

    Beat your margarine until light, about 3 minutes

    Add your sugar in two beats making sure to cream until pale

  4. 4

    Add in your eggs in bits, I added two at a time making sure to beat well in each addition

  5. 5

    Add your essence and lemon juice and mix well.

    Divide your mixture into two and gently fold in the flour mixture into the two batches.

    In one bowl, mix the now well mixed batter and combine well

  8. 8

    Grease your baking tin. This is a very large cake so you want to have a large tin. I used the ones that come with the oven.

    Pour in your batter and spread well. I have a habit of thumping the tray on a flat surface before putting it to bake.

    Bake in a preheated oven at 180°c for 60 minutes.

    Cake is ready when a skewer or toothpick or fork inserted comes out clean.
