Ingredients

  1. 2.5 cupsall purpose flour
  2. 2.5 tspbaking powder
  3. 3/4 cupmargarine /cooking oil
  4. 1 cupsugar
  5. 1/2 tspsalt
  6. 2eggs
  7. 11/4 cupmilk
  8. 1.5 tbsvanilla essence

Cooking Instructions

    Beat sugar and cooking oil till creamy

  2. 2

    Add one egg at a time as you beat, add vanilla essence to incorporate and set aside

  3. 3

    Mix dry ingredients and set aside

  4. 4

    Fold in the dry ingredients as you alternate with milk

  5. 5

    Grease your baking tin and dust with flour

  6. 6

    Pour in the batter and tap

  7. 7

    Light your jiko and ensure charcoal are red hot

  8. 8

    Pour salt on big sufuria and preheat for 10 minutes

  9. 9

    Put in the sufuria with batter, cover with a lid, put hot charcoal on top and bake for 30-40minutes

  10. 10

    Insert a toothpick or knife and if it comes out clean it means the cake is ready
