4 servings
  1. 2 cupspishori rice
  2. 1/2 kgboiled beef
  3. 3 1/2 cupswater
  4. 4medium sized potatoes
  5. 1 cupboiled peas
  6. 3/4tspn of garlic and ginger paste
  7. 1 tspdawa ya pilau whole pieces
  8. Cooking oil
  9. Salt
  10. 2medium sized diced bulb onions
  11. For the kachumbari you'll need
  12. 2medium sized tomatoes, sliced
  13. 1medium sized onion, sliced
  14. Cucumber
  15. Lemon

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Wash the rice and leave it to settle in the water

  2. 2

Put a reasonable amount of oil in a sufuria, let it heat then add your onions. Let them cook until they turn golden brown, then add your garlic and ginger paste and the whole pilau piece. Stir the mixture as you add the ingredients because the ginger and garlic paste sticks to the sufuria.

  3. 3

Add the beef to the mixture, stir then add the potatoes and the peas. Stir for 2mins to ensure everything mix properly.

  4. 4

Add your rice and stir thoroughly. Pour the water or beef broth to the mixture. Mix it up then add salt and mix again. Cover and reduce the heat and let it cook.

  5. 5

For the kachumbari add 1 tbs of salt to the onions and a little water then then squeeze out the onion soup and mix with the tomatoes and sliced cucumber. Squeeze out the lemon juice to the mixture. Serve with the pilau while it's still hot. You can have it with a banana.
