Cod & chorizo stew with butter beans

Matthew J Williams @matt
Very quick. The beans add a delightful butteryness.
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Here are some of the ingredients.
- 2
Heat the oil in a deep frying pan and add the onion. Cook over a medium heat for 5 mins until starting to soften.
- 3
Add the chorizo and cook for another few mins to release the oil.
- 4
Coat the onion in the chorizo oil, then tip in the tomatoes. Fill the can with water and tip that in too. Season and bring to the boil.
- 5
Once boiling, season the cod (or basa) fillets and nestle into the pan. Reduce the heat and gently simmer for about 7 mins.
- 6
Gently mix in the butter beans and cook for 1-2 mins more until hot. Scatter with parsley and serve in bowls.

Chickpea Stew with Cod and Spinach - Quick Version
This stew is very typical during Easter, and yesterday when I saw the cod at the store, I thought, 'I'm going to try it!' This is my quick version with what I had in the fridge, and I must say it turned out perfect!

Chorizo bean stew, for 2

Etouffee-inspired seafood stew
This was originally going to be a pretty straightforward shrimp etouffee, but our supermarket had a sale on fresh cod and scallops, and I couldn't resist. Despite the change in plan, the actual cooking process remained pretty much the same. The resulting dish was familiar yet different, and pretty darned tasty. A nice change from the usual chowder.

Mangetout Stew
My mother's recipe. She adds the beans quite early on. If you prefer yours with a bit of crunch I'd add them just before adding your eggs.

Sophie's sausage, bean and Guinness stew
I used red kidney beans & rosecoco beans in this, but they're easily interchangeable with other types of beans. This is great on its own, or make it go further with rice. If you have leftovers, try chopping the sausages before reheating and serving with salad & cheese in a wrap.

Chorizo and Bean Stew
A delicious warming stew, perfect for cold winter nights. The chorizo is the hero ingredient, but plenty of veggies keep this stew healthy and light.

Spicy Beef Mince and Bean Stew with Tomatoes
I use curry powder, so the resultant dish is not going to be very hot. I don't use consomme cubes and season with salt. You can use consomme cubes if you prefer. This dish has a rich flavour because the vegetables and curry powder are fried slowly. By frying the curry powder before stewing it gives a good flavour to the dish.If you use dried beans, use the cooking liquid at Step 6 instead of water to give extra flavour to the dish. Cheezy Brat Stew
I went to my sister's house and she made this for me to try. Since then, I've been adding other vegetables to it. I'm giving you the basic recipe here.Change it around how you like. I like adding carrots, corn, cauliflower, and celery. That's in the batch in the photo. Its really easy to make vegetarian too.

Chicken Tomato Stew with Oregano
I don't know why, but I've been cooking the chicken stew seasoned with oregano for a long time.Adjust the amount of the honey to your liking.I like to make it rather sweet, so I put about 2 tablespoons of honey. Recipe by ruruchirin

Vegetable Stew
I used my left over vegetables . One egg plant was gone half bad, used my frozen tomatoes , and add a can of black beans. You can use any can of legumes ( chickpeas , white beans, but lentils would not be a good idea, )if you don’t want to use oven you can use same pot to cook if you are too lazy or have no time. . I think putting then to oven make taste better.

Spanish Cod Fish Stew ala Alvarado
During my years in Madrid, my family and I would have this stew once a week to keep home dinners less complicated yet enjoy the most sustainable fish we could buy. The recipe calls for fresh cod not to be confused with salt cod. When possible, ask your fish monger to cut out the loin of the long portions that are found in their cold case. A hearty loin is less likely to break up in the simmer than a thin filet.

Easy Sausage & Bean Stew
It's a cool, gray day here, so a hearty stew seems perfect for dinner. Canned beans that have been in the cupboard for a while and a link of sausage from last week's grocery run seemed like a good place to start! This looks like a long list of ingredients, but they're pretty common pantry staples. And if you don't have some of the herbs/spices, no worries. Use what you got! ;)

Sig's Bean and Lentil Stew with griddled and stuffed Tenderloin

Almost Cioppino (Seafood Stew)
I was craving Cioppino but being in a land-locked state fresh, good seafood for making true Cioppino is extremely hard to come by. Enter my attempt to make it from some leftover trimmed down cod pieces from the last time I cut cod fillets and some freezer section and canned seafood. It still turned out really good, and my son and husband had two bowls each! Not the greatest pic cause I forgot to take one before it was half gone haha. Amount of people this serves really depends on how much everyone eats.#April2026
