On winter weekends, our family loves hot pot dishes, and tonight we're having sukiyaki! I used a Kansai-style recipe as a reference. Although it's Kansai-style, using a simple warishita sauce makes it very satisfying!
The story behind this recipe
I couldn't make it well before, but after using a recipe with warishita sauce, it turned out great.

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Cut the beef and vegetables into your preferred sizes. For the warishita sauce, combine sake, sugar, and soy sauce in a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 1 1/2 minutes to dissolve the sugar.

  2. 2

Coat the pan with beef fat, add the beef, and cook. Then add the warishita sauce, followed by the vegetables and other ingredients, and add more warishita sauce. Cover with a lid, and after a while, your sukiyaki is ready! (Add eggs if you like.)

  3. 3

Towards the end of the sukiyaki, add the udon noodles. If there's not enough liquid, add more warishita sauce. And there you have it, udon sukiyaki is ready!
