Ingredients

40 minutes
3 serves
  1. 3 cupall-purpose of flour
  2. Oil for frying
  3. 3 tbspoil for kneading
  4. I tsp of salt
  5. 1 1/2 cupwarm water
  6. 1 tspsugar

Cooking Instructions

40 minutes
  1. 1

In a bowl put flour, then mix salt, sugar and warm water.

  2. 2

In the flour, add in oil and warm water then start to knead. Knead while adding water to form a soft dough.

  3. 3

Allow the dough to rest for 15 minutes.

  4. 4

After 15 mins, roll the dough in a flat surface. Roll it until 0.5 cm thick.

  5. 5

Divide the dough into 12 equal parts.

  6. 6

Roll one ball in a flat surface into a circular shape. Brush with oil on the surface.

  7. 7

Then start folding and rolling the chapati from the sides with both hands as if you are folding it away from your direction

  8. 8

Once a shape that looks like a rope has been formed, create a coil like shape and with your arm press it down wards.

  9. 9

Then with a rolling pin roll into a circular shape. Here you can already see the layers form.

  10. 10

Then heat pan in medium heat, and with oil fry each side until golden brown.

  11. 11

Repeat this process until you finish the rest of the balls.
