Here's an old fashioned pound cake.

This is a moist, delicious cake that you can whip up in a hurry. I originally got it from a cookbook that my mom's cake decorating club, Mile High Cake Decorators, produced back in the 1970s. It was called "Mile High Favorites." All of the members of the club submitted their favorite recipes. I guess you could say it was like an early version of CookPad! This is my go-to cookbook, because it contains many family favs.

I went out to eat at a fancy schmancy restaurant and they served a butter cake. It was... probably the best thing they served. It was a little crispy, buttery. Can a cake be sexy? That’s what it was. I never heard of a butter cake, never tried one. I looked into it and this is my rendition.

I deduced this recipe from baking red velvet cake a little over 2 yrs ago. I have baked no other plain cake since then. Hopefully you will too !!

I have had a hard time finding recipes which use 100% whole wheat flour. I have switched all my flour to whole wheat flour and it has become my all-purpose flour. You will be amazed by the many recipes you can use 100% whole wheat flour and they turn out amazing! Try this one and let me know if you have any suggestions. I am always ready to learn.

My mom used to make this cake when I was growing up so I may be biased, but this is the best coffee cake I have tried yet.

Red velvet cake for #goldenapron23

This is a one layer cake I made up. I have a wild hog I found injured and abandoned as a baby that is now a full grown spoiled princess her name is Buttercup. She loves sweets I make these cakes as treats for her but my family loves them too. Give this a try it's easy and amazing!

Found this recipe on Southern Living I wanted to try it and it was a hit. I did 2 layers vs. 3. I will create a separate post for the homemade frosting.
