Cooking Instructions

Mix water and yeast in a small bowl and set aside. In a separate bowl, mix flour, sugar, powdered milk, nutmeg and salt then pour the yeast mixture, add egg, vanilla essence and mix well

Place the dough in a flat surface, add little water and knead it, add butter and knead it for at least 10mins

Cover the dough in a bowl and allow it to rise, cut the dough into 8 pieces, mold it and allow it to rise. Fry in a low flame.

You can glaze the top with yolk and sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top for better finish.This recipe will yield about a dozen buns, more or less. I adapted from a German recipe, but the dough seems to come out too soft and sometime the custard might not get thick enough according to another person who cooked :( I'll update this sometime soon [3/29/2016]This is a German pastry loved by all ;) The name means "Bee Sting" in German. Most German recipes use instant pudding, but in this recipe I've included how to make your own vanilla custard creme filling (you can double it if you love the super cream-filled kind!). The best cinnamon buns you will ever eat.I made half of the dough and I got 8 buns out of it. If you want that too, just half all the ingredients. I used a teaspoon oil instead of the yolk and it worked perfectly fine. Miriam👩🍳
