Maw Maw's Sweet Texas Chili
I got this recipe from my father-in-law after my mother-in-law passed away. It was his favorite. It's very meaty and I place in every chili cookoff I enter. The heat is very low and the flavor is well balanced. If you want a spicy chili, this isn't it.

Dry curry

Best Refried Beans Ever!!
Got this recipe from my mother-in-law who is from Guadalajara Mexico. She converted the traditional "lard" recipe to olive oil. These are better than any restaurant I have been to. Way better than canned and so cheap to make. Full of iron and healthy carbs.

Anyone in the know - knows that every Wednesday here in the O'Brien Shire is, "Let's clean out the crispers, freezers and rotate the pantry day!" With that, two of my youngest students created this delectable NOLA inspired dish in less than 15 minutes. Excellent work kiddos! Great shortcuts too!

Calico Beans
It's been years since I've had calico beans and my husband had never tried them. I couldn't find a recipe that I liked for them, and most used ingredients I didn't have at home. We're about 50 miles from the nearest grocery store, so running out for ingredients was not an option. I used several other recipes for inspiration, but this recipe is my creation. Enjoy
