Buttermilk Biscuits Batch 7

I love biscuits and gravy. My great grandmother made the best biscuits, but she made them with sourdough. I have tried lots of recipes, but this one comes most near to the tenderness and taste I enjoy. Hope you will enjoy too.

I've tried several biscuit recipes & this is my favorite! I tweaked the recipe a bit when I make it. I always use 1 cup of buttermilk. When I tried 3/4 cup the dough was always too dry & didn't stay together. Also, I mix this in my kitchenaid stand mixer & it turns out fine so you don't have to mix by hand if you don't want to. Had left over buttermilk and wanted an easy yummy recipe to make biscuits for breakfast. Found these and actually no joke tasted like Popeyes biscuits

I try to make as much as I can of what we eat from scratch. When buttermilk is on sale I make several batches to have biscuits for breakfast, lunch, dinner, anytime at a moments notice!

I made chicken and dumplings so some wanted buttermilk biscuits to go with it I wanted herbed biscuits so I made both if you just wanted to make one set of biscuits just cut recipe in half

Simple enough recipe for everyday use.

These biscuits scream "Southern!" from their core.

You can swap the Lard for your choice of fat. I wanted Biscuits but all i had was Lard so i gave it a go and let me say "IT WORKED" they're light and fluffy

absolutly the best biscuits i have ever had.and i have been trying everything to make a good biscuit.i modified recipe a little i used butter instead of shorting and i didnt melt it i ixed in the flour like always using very cold butter.and coated pan with shortning not melted.plus had to add more buttermilk just a small amount.but absolutly the most most and delishous biscuits ever.and leftovers are just as good cold.i cant help nbut grab one each time i walk by.
