I wanted to make a bread that could be eaten as a snack. I thought I would just twist and twist and form into a loop, but they came out bigger than I expected, so I made them in heart shapes which came out so cute. So I decided on these.♡ They're probably good for Valentine's Day too.♫♬

1/26, I changed the method of shaping the dough just a little bit. I think this way will probably turn out a little more pleasing to the eye... Recipe by Dokintan

Ingredients

8 servings
  1. 220 gramsBread (strong) flour
  2. 30 gramsCake flour
  3. 20 gramsUnsalted butter
  4. 30 gramsSugar
  5. 4 gramsSalt
  6. 5 gramsInstant coffee
  7. 160 mlMilk
  8. 2 1/2 gramsDry yeast
  9. 150 gramsCream cheese
  10. 20 gramsSugar
  11. 1Cocoa powder

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Warm the milk in the microwave, dissolve the instant coffee and let cool.

  2. 2

Place all the ingredients from the strong flour to the dry yeast into the bread machine case and begin the bread dough course.

  3. 3

Warm the cream cheese in the microwave for 40~50 seconds until soft. Add the sugar and mix well until smooth.

  4. 4

When the dough is ready, remove it from the bread machine, separate into 8 portions, deflate, and form into balls. Cover with a wrung out, damp dishcloth and let sit for 10~15 minutes.

  5. 5

Roll each ball out into an oblong shape, spread with cream cheese and dust with cocoa powder.

  6. 6

Roll it up and tightly close the seam.

  7. 7

Keep rolling it until it stretches to 22~24 cm Cut it in two, leaving 1.5 cm at each end intact.

  8. 8

Use both hands to lift one section to the top, and the other section under to twist.

  9. 9

Bend it into a loop and tightly seal the two ends together. Push the ends together into the center to form a heart shape. Place on a baking tray and let rise a second time.

  10. 10

When they are done rising, bake for 12~15 minutes at 180°C. If they seem like they are getting too dark, cover with a sheet of aluminum foil.

  11. 11

Here is an experimental mini bread loaf version. I just rolled it up and baked it, so some air got stuck inside, which made it look quite ugly,so I dismissed these. Well, if you want something simple, make these. (Makes six 10 x 5.5 x 5cm mini bread loaves)
