Cooking Instructions

Add veg.oil in a pan,add onion and saute for 3 minutes

Add in your habanero, garlic and ginger paste and continue to saute

Add your mix bell peppers

Add your spices chicken and seasonings

Add a little amount of water and allow to cook for 5 minutes

Add corn flour slurry and stir,cover for 2 minutes

Enjoy with plain white rice

Ever since I had a delicious sauced katsu-don at a highway stop restaurant when I was visiting my parents, I've been going to the same restaurant every time I go home, so I tried re-creating it. (Although it doesn't really live up to the original...)It is easier to eat if you alternate the fatty sides of the pork roast slices as you layer them, so that the fat does not end up in one lump. The number of slices will depend on the thickness, so adjust accordingly. I used 3 pieces for my husband and 2 for myself. Layered sliced pork is more tender and easier to eat. The ingredients for tempura include: squid, shrimp, octopus, horse mackerel, carrots, onions, Japanese leek, sweet potatoes, maitake mushrooms, shimeji mushrooms, fresh shiitake mushrooms, shishito peppers, lotus root, shiso leaves, taranome (a mountain vegetable), fukintou (butterbur sprouts), kabocha squash, eggplant, burdock roots.Tentsuyu sauce is a light sauce made with simmered mirin, kaeshi soy sauce and dashi stock. Ten-don sauce uses the above plus a little sugar to sweeten it. Tempura batter doesn't have to be smooth! In fact, it's better if its texture is a bit rough!
