Ingredients

2-3 servings
  1. 1 cupSooji / Rava (pre roasted)
  2. 1medium Onion
  3. 1small Carrot
  4. 3-4 tbspchopped Capsicum
  5. 2-3green chilli
  6. 1/2 tspMustard seeds
  7. 1 tspSugar
  8. 2 tspSalt
  9. Few cashews
  10. 1Ginger
  11. 2 cupwater
  12. leavesFew Curry
  13. 2 pinchturmeric (optional)
  14. 2 tbspOil

    Assemble ingredients

    Put water to boil

    Roast cashews and keep aside

  4. 4

    In moderately heated pan add oil, add mustard seeds + curry leaves and allow to sizzle, then add Onion + carrot + capsicum + little salt + turmeric and stir fry for 3-4 minutes. Add sooji and roast for 4-5 minutes under low flame.

    Then add water and keep stirring, water evaporates as sooji cooks. Add sugar + salt as required and mixture thickens.

    Simmer for 3-4 minutes under low flame, add roasted cashews and mix well. Upma is ready to serve.

    Tasty Upma is ready to serve for lunch box.
