I made pizza for the kids the other day and had half a pan of marinara sauce left over. I also had a bag of bean sprouts in the fridge that needed using so I though, why not combine the two? I came up with a low carb Asian meets Italian dish that you definitely won't miss the pasta in! I hope you try it! Vicky@Jacks Free-From Cookbook -

Vegan 'Meat' Sauce for Pasta Vegan 'Meat' Sauce for Pasta
This pseudo-meat sauce pasta doesn't include animal products or sugar. Instead of using meat, you use koya tofu, which is easy to find. Prepare the minced koya tofuThe point is to carefully sauté the garlic and onion so you can take full advantage of its sweetness. The garlic burns especially easily, so if it seems like it's burning even over low heat, remove from heat. Easy and Authentic Pasta in Tuna Tomato Sauce Easy and Authentic Pasta in Tuna Tomato Sauce
I don't like the flavor of tomato that much, but I love this pasta sauce. Each time I make this, I'm impressed every time that this flavor can be achieved in such a short time. The amount of salt to add depends on how much bacon you add, so taste before salting. The sauce will thin out a bit when you add the pasta, so season it generously. For 2 servings. Recipe by classy cookpad.japan -
Sweet Savoury Pasta Meat Sauce Kid-Friendly (Bolognese) Sweet Savoury Pasta Meat Sauce Kid-Friendly (Bolognese)
Here in Manila we love our spaghetti a bit sweetish and very saucy. 😋 So both the kids and kids at heart love it.This was gone after the first two sets of guests arrived! Spaghetti is always a crowd pleaser in gatherings here. You can use your favorite pasta on this too.Sweet tomato / spaghetti sauces are readily available in our supermarkets in Manila. If there aren't any in your area, just add brown sugar to adjust the sweetness. :) I still use fresh tomatoes when making pasta sauce, as it enhances the flavor (which is not common practice here). My rule is, don't just open something and heat it, always add to it and make it your own! 😊 I also combine different types/flavors of the tomato/spaghetti sauces, because it makes the end result better and tastier.
