Ingredients

15 minutes
  1. 1 bowlRava or Suji
  2. 1onion
  3. 1carrot
  4. 2green chillies
  5. 8-10curry leaves, kadipatta
  6. 2 bowlswater
  7. 1 tbspcoconut oil
  8. 2 tbspfreshly grated coconut
  9. 1 tsprai or mustard seeds
  10. 1 tspChana dal and udad dal each for tempering
  11. pinchhing
  12. as required Salt to taste
  13. pinchsugar

Cooking Instructions

    Roast the suji in a wok or kadai for 5 to 6 minutes.

    Wash and fine cut the onions, carrot, green chillies curry leaves. Heat 2 bowls of water with salt. Keep it to boil.

    Then heat the kadai and add to it a tbsp of coconut oil, when the oil gets hot, temper it with mustard seeds, udad dal, Chana dal and pinch of hing

    Then add to this tempering the cut onion, carrot, green chillies curry leaves and saute it for 3 minute or so.. Then cover it up for 2 to 3 minutes and let it all cook in its own steam.

    Remove the cover, then add the boiled water and roasted suji and give it a good mix

  6. 6

    Cover it and let it all cook together you will see steam rising. Open the cover and and and let it cook by mixing it with a large spoon.

    Sprinkle some fresh coconut and serve hot.
