Leeks with tofu and fish cake

How to make a simple recipe for eating porridge. Super easy recipe with cheap ingredients. Bought from Sheng Siong supermarket, leek 2 pieces $1.65, small firm tofu 2 pieces $0.95, large fish cake 3 pieces $2.22, total $4.82. Enough ingredients for 6 servings. Ingredients

  1. 2 piecesleek
  2. 2 piecesfirm tofu small
  3. 3 piecesfish cake
  4. 3 tablespoonscooking oil
  5. 3 tablespoonsmirin
  6. 2 tablespoonslight soya sauce
  7. 1 tablespoonstarch flour
  8. 50 mlwater (for making starch water)
  9. 200 mlwater (for making gravy)

Cooking Instructions

    Slice the leeks diagonally. Cut the tofu and fish cake into thick slices.

    Heat the cooking oil in the frying pan with medium-high heat.

  3. 3

    Fry the tofu till browned.

  4. 4

    Add fish cake and saute.

  5. 5

    Add leeks and saute.

  6. 6

    Add mirin and light soya sauce. Saute.

  7. 7

    Add 200ml water around the side.

  8. 8

    Once boiling, add starch water slowly while turning off the heat. Saute till gravy slightly thickens. (To make starch water, dissolve 1 tablespoon of starch flour into 50ml water)

    Ready to serve with porridge.

Love to cook and experiment with new cooking methods in addition to traditional stir fry recipes. Living in Singapore, a fantastic place to eat and experience (almost) every kind of cuisine in the world.
