Japanese Spinach with sesame sauce(Goma ae)

  1. 1 bundleSpinach
  2. 2 TbspSesame seeds
  3. 1 Tbspsoy source or Miso(fermented soybean paste)
  4. 1/2 Tbspsugar

Cooking Instructions

    Prepare a deep pot with plenty of water and bring to boil. Meanwhile, wash the spinach well.

    Grab spinach leaves and dip stem part in boiling water for a minute and put whole spinach in the pot. Cook until it gets soft.

  3. 3

    Get spinach out from the pot and cool it in cold water. Squeeze the spinach and put in on a chopping board. Cut spinach into bite-size.

    Pour sesame seeds in a mortar. Food processor also works. Grind it until you smell strong sesame flavours, and mix in soy sauce and sugar.

    Combine spinach and sesame sauce and mix well.
