Idli are the type of savoury rice cake, today instead of rice I have used rava to make it jhat pat. Idli is a popular breakfast dish through out India.It can be served with chutney and Sambar.

Ingredients

  1. 1 cupBombay rava
  2. 1/4 tspmustard
  3. 4-5curry leaves
  4. Cashew nuts
  5. 1/4 tspcummin
  6. to tasteSalt
  7. 1 cupcurd
  8. 1/2 table spooncooking soda
  9. Water if required
  10. 1 table spoonurad dal
  11. For sambar
  12. Tuvar dal
  13. Carrot
  14. Bottlegourd
  15. Tomayoes
  16. Onion
  17. 1/2 tspTurmeric powder
  18. 1/2 tspcorisnder powder
  19. 2 tbstamarind juice
  20. 2 tbssambar powder
  21. 1 table spoonred chilli powder
  22. 1 tbsginger garlic paste
  23. leavesCurry
  24. Salt
  25. Corinder
  26. Oil
  27. Mustard seeds
  28. Cumminseeds
  29. leavesCurry
  30. Dry red chilli

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Dry roast rava and other ingredients

  2. 2

    Add curd and mix if required add water

  3. 3

    Now add salt and cooking soda

  4. 4

    Keep for fermentation for 30 mins

  5. 5

    Steam in idli steamer

  6. 6

    Cook dal in cooker take 3-4 whistle by adding all the ingredients except, sambar masala, tamarind paste, and vegetables

  7. 7

    Once Dal is cooked mash with masher

  8. 8

    Cook vegetables by adding water and salt

  9. 9

    Mix veggies to dal mixture

  10. 10

    Add tamarind, sambar powder, salt and jaggery, let it boil

  11. 11

    Give temper with cummin,mustard, curry leaves and dry chilli.
