Otite is an ancient delicacy made by some part of Delta Igbo during new yam festival celebration, it is usually made by family men in the community to mark the festival. I was prompted to make it today by a discussion on food festival, and I was glad I got that same old look, and guess what? It was finished within few minutes cos it was so delicious.

Ingredients

2 servings
  1. Halftuber of yam
  2. 1 table spoondry pepper
  3. Salt
  4. Halfcup of palmoil
  5. 1hand full of raw melon

Cooking Instructions

    Roast your yam and set aside

    Fry your raw unblended melon in a dry frying pan till it turns brown

  3. 3

    Pound your melon in a mortar

  4. 4

    Add salt and dry pepper cut your yam into prices, then add

  5. 5

    Add palm oil then mix together

  6. 6

    Taste for salt then serve
