Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsRice
  2. 1/2 cupUrad dal
  3. to tasteSalt

Cooking Instructions

    Soak rice and urad dal for 4 hours.

    Drain water and grind to a fine paste using water. Mix the paste well with hands add some salt and mix well. Keep the mixture in warm place overnight.

    In the morning beat the batter well. Add some water if required. Grease the idli pans. Pour the batter in moulds. Steam for 3 minutes in microwave.

    Insert a toothpick in the idlis to see if they are done. If it comes out clean then remove from moulds. Else cook for 1 more minute or till toothpick comes clean.

    Serve with chutney.
