Cooking Instructions

Proof your yeast by adding a Little lukewarm water to it

When proofed, switch container, add in the oil, more water, whole wheat flour, salt, sugar and mix untill soft and an elastic dough is achieved

Now sprinkle some wheat flour in a container, put the dough, cover with a clean kitchen towel and leave to rise for 30 mins

After 30mins your dough should be double in size

Now Grease your pan with butter and put the dough in and leave to rise for 20 minutes

Preheat your oven and bake till golden brown
- 7
Remove bread from pan, use a brush to rub butter on the bread while its still hot. Enjoy!

I decided not to use other oil in this recipe for a number of reasons: I'm on a diet, I want to make sure I eat enough fibre, and I also want to enjoy this read with olive oil. I made a normal bread dough with whole wheat flour, cut out the butter and lengthened the proving time to get a nice fluffy loaf.Make sure to prevent the bread dough from drying out at any point by spraying it with water etc. Since this recipe is oil-free, the bread tends to dry out quickly, so make sure to eat this bread as early as possible or store it somewhere where it can retain it's moisture. I made this with healthy oil and whole wheat flour, along with walnuts. This tastes great, even without butter.The soft dough is sticky and bit hard to handle and mold, but it remains really soft even the next day!I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out.I added in the walnuts directly this time, but it is even more delicious if you roast them a bit before baking.The dough is a bit sticky, so please sprinkle with flour when it gets difficult to handle.Please adjust the baking time and temperature according to your household oven.Or you could just bake it in the bread maker.
