Ingredients

Serve  4 servings
  1. 1 kgSaag
  2. 1/2 kgpalak
  3. 1/4 kgBathoo
  4. Salt as desired
  5. 10Green chillies
  6. 1 cupMakai ka atta
  7. For Tarka
  8. 1 tbspfresh chopped garlic
  9. 1 tbspfresh chopped ginger
  10. 4 tbspkhalis ghee
  11. Makai ki roti
  12. 1 cupmakai ka atta
  13. 1 cupchakki ka atta
  14. 1/2 tspsalt
  15. Makhan
  16. 1 cupfresh milk balai
  17. ice
  18. Lassi
  19. 2 cupsyogurt
  20. sugar to taste
  21. Ice
  22. 2 cupsmilk

Cooking Instructions

    Cutting saag is little lengthy process but am sure when you cook by this recipe you would definitely enjoy cutting it.

    Wash & cut separately all vegetables.

  3. 3

    Wash and cut saag, palak and Batho. Bathoo is a green leafy vegetable and enhance the taste of saag. Keep all vegetables separately.

    Take matti ki handi and add water in it. When water becomes hot add saag and bathoo. Add salt and let it cook.

    Chopped green chillies. When saag and bathoo are almost done add palak and green chillies.

  6. 6

    Adjust salt to your taste. Now gradually add makai ka atta with left hand and quickly mix with big wooden spoon we call it doii in punjabi. Ab lagain ghota means continuously mix with wooden spoon.

    Cook till you get desired consistency. Give tarka of ginger, garlic in khalis ghee.

    Knead chaki ka atta and makai ka atta and make small parathay. Apply ghar ka makhan.

    For making makhan take balai add ice in it and mix well. Butter will be separate. Throw water.

    Make lassi by mixing yogurt, sugar and milk. Use blender. Add ice.

    Make a beautiful platter of saag, makai ki roti. Utay paa lo makhan. Maza laylo lassi da.
