Sweet and sour Tomato Curry serve with white rice

Yesterday, when I went to buy tomatoes. I took a deep breath because the prices went down little bit and was craving for this tomato curry. Luckily, I got pomfret fish too so last night dinner became a complete Indian cuisine spread with Fried chillies and white rice. Alhamdolilah!

Ingredients

4 persons
  1. 4tomatoes (3 for boiling and 1 chopped)
  2. 2small onions (chopped)
  3. 1twig of Curry leaf
  4. 1 pinchFenugreek seeds
  5. 1.5 tspred chili powder
  6. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  7. 1.5 tspsalt or to taste
  8. 1/2 cupbaisan
  9. 1 cupImli pulp
  10. 1/2lemon juice
  11. 1/2 cuptomato ketchup
  12. 2 tbsoil
  13. For tarka
  14. 1/4 cupoil
  15. 1twig curry leaf
  16. 7-8red button chillies

Cooking Instructions

    Take some red soft ripe tomatoes and put it in the sauce pan. Add some water and put on stove for boiling. If the tomato are soft and red it will be boiled faster other it takes sometime. You can check with the fork by peeling the tomato skin.

    On the other hand, chopped tomatoes and onions. Put a pot on stove and pour oil. Add some fenugreek seeds and let it splatters.

    Then add curry leaf and wait to splatter this too. Add chopped onions and tomato and start frying. Make the flame medium and wait until the tomatoes get soft.

    The boiled tomatoes gets soft and soft he skin comes out easily, it means it’s done. Put it in blender with the water.

    Put 2 tbs of baisan, salt and red chilli powder

    Blend it well.

    When onion and tomato mixture gets soft, pit chili powder and turmeric and fry it well. Once the oil leaves, pour the mixture of boiled tomatoes and baisan and start stirring.

    Add 2 more glasses of water and keep stirring. Stir it till the boil comes and the curry’s consistency becomes slightly thick.

    Cover it and cook for 10 mins. Pour tomato ketchup and tamarind pulp.

    Mix it well. Squeeze half lemon if you need some more sourness.

    Boil it properly. Then dish out in serving bowl and put the pan with oil on stove for tarka. Add some button chillies first.

    Then curry leaf. Turn of flame and add some cumin. Pour this tarka directly on serving bowl.

    Serve with fried fish, white boiled rice and fried chili. My family loved it. I hope you also liked it🤗
