Murtabak or martabak, also mutabbaq (Arabic: مطبق‎‎), is a stuffed pancake or pan-fried bread which is commonly found in Saudi Arabia (especially the Tihamah and the Hejaz regions), Yemen, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Thailand. Depending on the location, the name and ingredients can significantly vary. The name mutabbaq (or sometimes mutabbag) in Arabic means "folded". It is a popular street food in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.Today I made vegan version Murtabak. I hope you will love it ;)

My mom use to make it to us in the winter and we used to eat it right when it got out of the oven.

When we were younger my uncle used to make us baked chicken and drizzle date syrup on it and it was delicious! This was supposed to be that but I ended up not making the chicken yesterday so I put a little spin on it.Hope you enjoy :)

A fun twist to the classic sticky date pudding! The addition of hojicha powder makes this a nutty and toasty treat, which is well balanced with the sweetness of the dates and caramel sauce.

This Easter I have decided that I will make an yeast cake babka.Babka, which literally means "grandmother" in Polish, probably got the name because its shape is reminiscent of an old woman's wide, swirling skirts. Babka is a slightly sweet yeast bread similar to Italian panettone that can be made with rum-soaked raisins or other dried fruit, and iced or left plain. It's an Easter favourite among Poles and Ukrainians, and year-round by Ashkenazi Jews. As one might imagine, the varieties differ by region and by country. Here are of my favourite babka recipe.
