Cooking Instructions
- 1
Mix the dry ingredients and then add butter and mix till combined
- 2
Gradually add water to the flour mixture (you might not need to use all of the water) until a soft dough is formed
- 3
Knead dough by hand or in a mixer until dough is soft and pliable
- 4
Coat the dough with the vegetable oil, cover with a damp cloth and allow to rise until it doubles in size
- 5
Remove dough and shape it into an oval shape. Allow to rise for another 30-45 minutes (allowing the dough to rise again makes the bread softer)
- 6
Pre-heat oven at 180 degrees (Celsius) and using brush the milk over the bread before baking for 45-50 minutes, or until top is golden brown
- 7
Allow to cool on a cooling rack before slicing and serving.

Bread Bowls Bread Bowls
Used to be able to order chicken stew in a Bread bowl at a restaurant. They no longer sell it, so it was time to make our own. We make our chicken stew in bulk and freeze it in food saver bags. This way we always have hearty stews on hand. Now with the bread bowls, you have 1 less thing to wash. The fact that it is tasty doesn't hurt. Grill-Master -

Lagana (Greek Bread) Lagana (Greek Bread)
Monday was our Clean Monday or Ash Monday, and is the day we usually bake the Greek Bread “Lagana”. I am sure you have seen other photos of Lagana from other Food Bloggers that look gorgeous 🙂 (Great Work fellow bloggers!!) mine doesn’t look like much, I know, but it does taste very good. 🙂Now, you might be wondering why my bread isn’t oval shaped, well like I have mentioned before my kitchen is quite small and I have very limited counter space. 🙂 (I don’t mind though I do my best with what I have). 🙂 So, I used a baking pan that I have and just used my fingers to push it out into a oval shape. This bread is so thin that you can actually use it to dip into the delicious dips you enjoy eating, or you can spread your dip onto the Lagana. 🙂 or even make delicious thin sandwiches….:) Foodzesty -
