Ingredients

  1. 2 cupssour rice (khashar chaal in bengali)
  2. 1/2 cup lentils
  3. 1 tablespoonGhee
  4. 1 tablespoonmustard oil
  5. 1 teaspoonPanch furon
  6. 1bay leaf
  7. 1dried red chilli
  8. 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  9. 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  10. 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  11. 4cloves
  12. 1 teaspoonsliced ginger
  13. 2slited green chillies
  14. As per tasteSalt
  15. as requiredWater

Cooking Instructions

    First wash off the rice and lentils and mix them and soak for 30 minutes.Now take a pressure cooker add the mixture of rice and lentils add half teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon salt.. Then add water in such quantity which remain just 1 inch above of the mixture.Now wait Upto 2 whistles.

    Keep the pressure cooker aside until the pressure of the cooker will set automatic.Now take a pan heat it and add 1 tablespoon mustard oil. Now add bay leaf, calves, dried red chilli, Panch furon, sliced ginger, slited green chilli saute spices for sometime.. Now add cumin powder, garam masala and 1 tablespoon ghee and saute them for 30 seconds.. Then mix the fried spices with the dry khichdi and Rajvog khichdi is ready to serve.
