Put salt and jeera in the puttu powder

Put hot water in the puttu podi(powder) little by little just to make it wet. It should still be in powdery form.

Keep it aside with the lid covered for approx to 1 hour and you could see that it rise in the sense that more powdery form.

In the puttu maker put water and in the cylindrical part first add little coconut and then put the puttu powder which was kept aside. And repeat in this format and at the end coconut should be put.

Put it on high flame and once when good amount of steam comes then keep the flame on slow and keep it for 5 mins.

After 5 minutes then take it out and serve it with sugar and banana / kala chana / chicken curry.
