Ingredients

  • 7-8Potatoes (boiled and mashed)
  • As per tasteSalt
  • 1Lemon juice
  • 1/4 tspChilli powder
  • pinchTurmeric powder
  • 1/2 tspGaram masala
  • ForVaghaar/Tempering:
  • 1/4 tspMustard seeds
  • 1/2 tspSesame
  • 1/4Ginger and 3 Green chillies (pounded)
  • 1/2 tspGarlic paste
  • ForBatter:
  • 1 cupBesan (Gram flour)
  • 2 tbspCornflour
  • pinchSalt
  • 1/2 tspBaking powder
  • pinchChilli powder
  • pinchTurmeric powder

Steps

  1. 1

    Mix all first ingredients with mash potatoes.

  2. 2

    Take a small pan put two tablespoon of oil and temper the tempering ingredients

  3. 3

    Then pour it in potato mixture.

  4. 4

    Mix well and make balls.

  5. 5

    Make thick batter using water with batter ingredients.

  6. 6

    Dip each ball in the batter and deep fry to golden brown, put five at a go.

  7. 7

    NB: Can flatten the potato balls and follow the rest of the steps, and use for vada paavs
